This month, we shine the spotlight on one of our promising young forwards, Brett Simpson. We had the chance to sit down with Brett and his father to learn more about his experience playing for the Chattanooga Kaistorms in the UPSL—and how the journey is shaping him both on and off the field.
Motivation and Purpose
Brett joined the UPSL this season with clear intentions: to challenge himself, elevate his game, and surround himself with a high-caliber coaching staff. “I was motivated to play this season because of the coaching staff and the high level of competition. I knew it would help make me a better player,” he shared.
A Path Toward the Future
Playing in the UPSL fits perfectly with Brett’s long-term goals. Whether it’s college soccer or going pro, he knows he’s gaining real-world experience in a pro-like setting. “This environment is helping me prepare for the future,” he said.
Growth Beyond the Game
Beyond the tactical and physical development, Brett values the personal growth he’s experiencing. “I’m gaining confidence and leadership, on and off the field,” he said. Being part of a team that promotes creativity, responsibility, and respect has pushed him outside his comfort zone and helped him grow as a person.
Parental Perspective
Brett’s father added, “We chose Chattanooga Kaistorms because of the coaching staff and level of competition. Coach Kwame and his team bring structure, passion, and experience. The training is intense, and the team’s culture supports growth in every player, regardless of age.”
A Culture That Builds Champions
What stands out most to Brett is the environment the Kaistorms have created. “Everyone works together. We’re creative without fear, and there’s trust all around. When someone makes a mistake, we lift each other up,” he said. The structured guidance from coaches like Kwame helps players exceed their limits and refine their strengths.
On the Pitch
Kaistorms’ playing style aligns perfectly with Brett’s strengths as a forward. “I like to hold the ball up and get played through, and we work on that a lot in training,” he said.
The Badge Means Everything
When asked what it means to wear the Kaistorms jersey, Brett’s answer was powerful and simple:
“It means everything. I play for the badge, for the Lord, for my teammates, and for my coaches.”
We’re proud to have Brett Simpson in our program and can’t wait to see where his talent and determination take him next. #Kaistorms #UPSL #PlayerSpotlight #NextGenTalent #ChattanoogaSoccer #KaistormFamily
